AgriFutures Agenda

Welcome to AgriFutures AGenda, our monthly newsletter providing insights into the research, ideas, trends and people shaping Australian agriculture. Today is the United Nation’s International Day of Rural Women and in this special edition, as we countdown the days until we announce our AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award National Winner and Runner Up, we are shining a light on the many incredible female figures contributing to our agricultural industry.

From our seven AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award State and Territory Winners to Alison Gill, an industrial hemp researcher from the University of Adelaide, women continue to play a critical role in enhancing and developing our agricultural industries and communities.

We feature the women who we are fortunate to be able to work with at AgriFutures Australia and who in turn, are representing your industries and your communities. Inspiring, resilient and future thinking; these women may not all live in rural areas but they’re equally passionate about our futures and want to make sure our agricultural industry is as productive, sustainable and efficient as it can be. We hope you enjoy reading their stories below.

And if you haven’t had a chance to register for the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award National Announcement on Wednesday, 20 October 2021, please do so today. This is a truly unique opportunity to hold the celebrations virtually and for everyone to join in!
